I was born and raised in Cape Town, and there is nowhere on earth quite like it. From the moment the morning light catches Table Mountain to the hour the sun drops behind the Atlantic, this city has a way of leaving people speechless. I have spent my whole life here, and it still takes my breath away.
In 2017, I turned a lifelong passion into a profession. After years of showing visiting friends and family the Cape Town that guidebooks miss — the hidden viewpoints, the family-run wine estates, the neighbourhood restaurants where the locals eat — I realised I could do the same for travellers from all over the world. Mike Brown Tours was born from that simple idea: share the real Cape Town, one personal tour at a time.
I am a registered tour guide with a Professional Driving Permit, First Aid certification, and a WSET wine course under my belt. But more than any piece of paper, what I bring to every tour is genuine enthusiasm and deep local knowledge built over a lifetime. I know which side of Chapman's Peak catches the best light at 4pm. I know which wine estate lets you taste in their barrel cellar. I know where the penguins nest away from the boardwalk crowds.
